A Quaid-i-Azam University student has been missing for a week has been presumed to be kidnapped. Sheen Mudassir, an MSc International Relations student, was allegedly kidnapped from his hostel room. Mudassir was Chairman of the university’s Gilgit-Baltistan Council and was opposed to political unions and gatherings.
In the last few weeks, the sources said he had exchanged some hot words with members of a religio-political party about some political gatherings on campus. Recently, a first information report was also filed against him at the Secretariat Police Station for “making trouble for students”. A QAU student told The Express Tribune that the management of the university and the vice chancellor were also informed about the incident.
An official from the administration department said the university is concerned and have reported it to the police, who are now investigating. “We informed his parents and they sent his older brother to coordinate with the police,” he said.
Mudassir has also been named in three other FIRs and had been involved in scuffles and brawls, the official added.
