Supporting education: Warid donates Rs1m to GCU

Warid Telecom has joined hands with the Government College University Lahore Endowment Fund Trust.

LAHORE: Warid Telecom has joined hands with the Government College University Lahore Endowment Fund Trust to give its support for education and has donated the trust Rs1 million.

According to a press release, Warid Telecom Director Sales and Distribution Amer Aman Khan handed over the cheque to GCU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Khaleequr Rahman at a ceremony at the GCU.

Speaking on the occasion, Amer Aman Khan said, “Warid strongly supports education and higher education in Pakistan and our gift to the GCU is one part of this important programme.”

Dr Muhammad Khaleequr Rahman said, “The recent economic crunch has greatly affected the institutions of higher learning in Pakistan and there is a dire need that noted companies like Warid should come forward and support quality education.”
