Additionally, 6,000 extra police personnel have been recruited on a daily wage basis for three days to meet the shortage of manpower to assist the police, said Rawalpindi City Police Chief Abdul Razzaq Cheema.
The CPO pointed out that although the stationed Pakistan Army contingents and Rangers will remain alert to meet any kind of emergency, the overall security responsibilities will be discharged by the police in the district.
No one would be allowed to exhibit arms and disturb the peaceful atmosphere, Cheema said.
