Drone strike kills 4 in North Waziristan

The US missile strikes have killed about 100 people since September 3.

MIRANSHAH: A missile strike by a US drone Saturday killed four people in Datta Khel village near Miranshah, the main town of North Waziristan, officials said.

"A US drone fired three missiles. The target was a vehicle carrying militants. Four militants were killed," a senior security official in Peshawar told AFP.

An intelligence official in Miranshah also confirmed the attack and toll.

Sixteen US drone attacks have been carried in just 22 days in North Waziristan.

The US missile strikes have killed about 100 people since September 3, while over 1,100 people have been killed in more than 130 drone strikes in Pakistan since August 2008, including a number of senior militants.

ADE | 14 years ago | Reply I would like to mention that I once met a Pakistan Air Force pilot and questioned him if the air force had enough resources to drop these drones; his answer was in the affirmative. He replied that if given the orders, the air force is more than capable of controlling these aerial weapons. However, no such action is expected since we have become American slaves.

Palvasha von Hassell | 14 years ago | Reply About 2% accuracy is attributed to these strikes by Admiral Kilcullen. Why are we allowing these illegal operations that kill voiceless innocent people mainly because the drones had been produced and had to be put in operation? Such a shame.
