The officials visited the prisoner who was assaulted by inmates in an Indian jail on Friday and also met the attending doctor, the report quoted a spokesperson of the Indian ministry of External Affairs as saying.
According to the report, India had granted consular access to Pakistan last night, and had also given travel permission to three officials and a driver.
According to the Indian media, Sanaullah had received serious head injuries and was first rushed to the Medical College Hospital in Jammu, where medics said he had slipped into a coma, much like India spy Sarabjit, who was attacked in Pakistan on April 26 and died Thursday.
Sanaullah was later flown to Chandigarh in an air ambulance and admitted to the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER).
A spokesperson of Pakistan’s foreign ministry had described the attack on Sanaullah as ‘obvious retaliation’ for the death of Sarabjit and had demanded a probe by Indian authorities.
Correction: An earlier version of the article incorrectly stated that Sanaullah is in Chandigarh jail, instead of hospital. The error is regretted.

@K Singh: Brother we can only captioned our comments at the end of a report but we also know the reality better that how and why such mishaps are taking place of both side of the borders.........as a result lay men, of both sides, like us become prejudice......
@GIndian: Yes. You should know better as you already live in a banana republic.
This is how a Banana republic work and India is fast becoming one.
I have heard that he is dead now so congratulations to all indians, their prime minister so u should be happy. U are very brave people and know the meaning of tit for tat
Attack on Mr. Sanaullah is highly unfortunate and deplorable, as an Indian I find it embarrassing too. I was vociferously condemning the attack on Sarabjit in Pakistani prison along with many sane voices from both sides of the border but now I find myself on the thin ground. This incident has again proved the age old saying 'Violence begets violence'. This is 21st century but we are yet to find the cure of this evil thing (hatred) that unleashes the innate violence we harbour, the violent beast within ourselves who otherwise remains subdued due to forces of reason and morality or fear of law but suddenly something happens and the violent means become sanctified in the name of religion, race or country and we commit the most horrendous acts on a fellow human so unscrupulously. My prayers for the innocent victims, May he recover soon. Indian Government should facilitate his family’s visit asap and authorities must ensure the safety of the other Pakistani prisoners. Peace
Why gov allowed them? When they hvnt allowed ours
Just pointing out a correction - he is not lodged in Chandigarh jail, but is under treatment at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI) Chandigarh.
