PESHAWAR:

Taking notice of prolonged power cuts on the outskirts of the city, District Returning Officer Shaibar Khan has asked the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) to restore electricity until May 9 so the polling staff does not face any problems on May 11.

Severe loadshedding has been experienced in Shaikh Muhammadi, Sulaiman Khail, Shahab Khail and Garhi Mili Khail areas.

Khan, who is also a district and sessions judge, directed Pesco Chief Brigadier (Retd) Tariq Sadozai on Friday to restore power supply, which was suspended after militants attacked Sheikh Muhammadi grid station last month. Two people were killed on the spot and nine were kidnapped.
