Police raid NADRA centre, seize ‘fake’ tokens
Flood survivors alleged that three NADRA officials had been asking for Rs3,000 to Rs5,000 to issue a Watan Card, after which the police conducted a raid and found NADRA officials making “fake” token and NICs. However, the officials managed to escape.
The police took the evidence into custody and informed the NADRA authorities about the fraudulent activities in Panu Aqil. It also assured the people that the suspects will be arrested soon.

Meanwhile, thousands of flood survivors from Jacobabad, Kandhkot, Kashmore and Kambar Shahdadkot were forced to return empty handed when the NADRA centre in Garhi Khuda Bux stopped distributing Watan Cards on Friday.
Sources said that the centre was out of Watan Cards and will start functioning again once it is supplied with more cards by the NADRA centre in Sukkur.
“Many NADRA centres across the province have run out of their supply of Watan Cards, which is why we have stopped the process of issuing cards for a few days,” said NADRA Sukkur administrative manager Major (retd) Tanvir Abbas.
Thousands of people in Shikarpur were also kept waiting for the cards on Friday when the NADRA counter was closed for the same reason.
Flood survivors rallied from the Public Army School to the Rustam Chowk in protest when they were told to come back on Monday.
They blocked the National Highway, claining that they were not being issued Watan cards.
A police team later reached the scene to disperse the mob.
