“He [Khan] had earlier announced that he will contest elections from the same constituency as Nawaz Sharif but he retreated,” Sharif said.
“On another occasion, Khan sahib raised corruption charges against us regarding Metro bus but when Transparency International investigated the issue; Khan did not respond.”
“He has participated in eight elections in total and lost in all eight of those,” Sharif remarked.
The PTI chairman and Sharif’s war of words has aggravated as the polls come near.
“How can he not criticise federal government and Zardari who resorted to corruption, load shedding and has been involved in rental power cases?” he questioned Khan who has repeatedly blamed Sharif’s of corruption during their rule.
Sharif further stated that he believed the arrow, cycle and bat have joined hands ahead of the polls.
Earlier, Imran Khan had challenged PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif to a live TV debate and said Sharif should not fear the confrontation if he is a true leader.
Apart from his rebuttal of allegations raised by PTI Chairman, Sharif also spoke on the recent attacks on the Awami National Party (ANP), Pakistan Peoples party (PPP) and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) activists.
“Interim PM and the Election Commission of Pakistan is responsible to put a stop to these attacks and we strongly condemn them,” he said.

Pakistan has finally got a leader ; IMRAN KHAN ; Imran Khan has given Pakistan Shaukat Khanum hospital , and he has given Pakistan cricket 17 years of his life , he gave world cup to Pakistan , he made us proud in the world , he is our pride , Pride of Pakistan , but when today he fell down from that lift , there was no ambulance no doctor no 1122 rescue team for his help but he could not get a stretcher even today.His workers pick him up but even at that time he says ill get up myself.he loses lot of blood and gets evacuated in his car and while he gets evacuated he keeps on reciting kalma and nothing else.he gets 11 stiches ;6 in front of head and 5 in back of head with 2 hairline fractures , neck injury and a vetebral column minor fracture due to which his movement gets restricted for 3 weeks... This is what we call a leader who has no protocol no proper protection , he just mingles up with the people of his country and in his all processions there is no space between people and the stage whereas all other leaders keep proper distance and no one can get near stage and even people sit in bullet proof containers in this country yet ladies and people hear him in rain. ECP and the state are responsible to give him protection and medical cover as hi is the leader of this nation....... Imran Khan wants to be an engineer, without going through an appenticeship, a surgeon without practicle xperince, a commander without soldiering, a Government chief withou any expeience as a junior minister. He reckons that all he has to do is to criticise and the common man will be fool enough to replace the experienced one with a person who has nothng to show.
This is too short and very poor to offer! The people of Pakistan need an expierenced leadership at this junctue. Nawaz Sharif is te experienced and decent politician. The Man to be trusted! He must find a modus operandi with the military business ceo's.

It is interesting to see @Waqas 's comment. It is important to note that PTI is gaining PPP voters only. Doesn't that mean that PMLN has already won the election because PPP hardly gets any votes now. Even in the last elections, Jehangir Badar had only some 14000 odd votes. I wonder what makes PTI feel that with the PPP votes divided, how would they be able to beat PMLN that bags at least 70000 votes from all constituencies in Lahore? As far as this post is concerned, I was literally shocked to see the earlier report on ET because Sharifs had never announced to contest against IK. It was IK who had been boasting that he'd contest against Sharifs. Good to see that ET finally has an updated version and tells the world what actually happened. In fact it was on Express News that Javed Chaudhry had asked why Imran Khan did not contest elections against Nawaz Sharif and Khan replied he had to campaign throughout the country so didn't want to waste all his energies in one constituency which was a U Turn by the way from his earlier statements.

the other day i was watching a program of ASMA SHERAZI on DAWN tv . She interviewed the people of Multan 149 , Among them mostly people were PMLN and PTI supporters . On asking from elderly PTI supporters that who they were supporting in previous elections EVERY ONE said PPP . So, this is enough proof for us as our Leader IK has already said that PPP has been finished in PUNJAB .This is the battle Between PMLN and PTI . Long Live great KHAN .

Yes I remember those tall claims. He said it twice at least that he would contest against Mian Nawaz Sharif and then backed out saying that he had to run the campaign throughout the country. Point is: Why does he make all these tall claims when he can't fulfill them? He should either consult his party before giving a sweeping statement or he should convince them on his words. Why does he embarass his supporters time and again. I am not one of his supporters, but I really feel pity for PTI supporters who have to support all his U Turns everytime.
The former CM of Punjab who is blaming PPP for shortage of power and load shedding has lot to answer himself. Punjab spent Rs 30 billions on sasti roti which includes 25 billions loans from banks and Rs 5 billions paid as default for failure to return loan in time and this scheme was a complete failure. Rs 25 billions was spent on metro bus service with nil return, 5 billions spent on useless laptops and Rs 3.5 billions was overspent ie above the budget allocation. Had all this money spent on energy sector, Punjab could have produced 5000MW power which was essential for industries, employment, agriculture and more importantly for providing relief to millions who have to bear load-shedding for 12 to 16 hrs per day. In addition Punjab's growth rate was a meagre 2.5 pc as compared to 3.7 for rest of Pakistan and minorities were the biggest sufferers in Punjab. Any takers ?

I feel that ik has been successful so far in igniting a spark in the nation. Every one is now talking about pakistan. This is the role of a true leader to create the momentum in the sleeping nation. He has given us the energy and we are once again thinking unanimously. Its a great achievement of his and one should give him credit for that.

Clearly PMLN lacks any real agenda behind their bid for the upcoming elections; so its only obvious that they are targeting another party rather then telling masses what they will do for them once they come in power, But the most funny is when the PMLN criticises dictators, most notably Pervez Musharraf, but fail to acknowledge that they themselves were brought up in the lap of this country's most right-winged military dictator, Mr. Gen. Zia ul Haq! Shame on you, PMLN.
Above PTI fanatics have removed the curtains from Shareef brothers hypocricy very well, so i wont get much into it. I'd just bring some scientific facts into account that look, forests are getting rare, so you wont find desperate hungry 'Lions' except those in cages which aren't gonna put scars on PTI expedition. PML(Q) never criticized by IK although they have plundered Pakistan equally for 11 years first with Musharraf and then with PPP, it seems for the reason Pervez Elahi helped himr organizing public meeting at Lahore.
Something PML N will never understand is democracy !!! Tickets in PTI were awarded through a democratic mechanism unlike PML N, Imran left the meeting whenever his or his extended family member was considered for ticket alotment to remain unbias. Metro bus money, even if it is not embezzled, is under moral corruption and is an instance of pre-poll rigging, it does not fit the priority list of people of Pakistan/Lahore, they need electricity, education, food, jobs and law and order which is the subject matter of the provincial government. Shahbaz Sharif may find misguided pride that Imran khan is not contesting against Nawaz Sh., surely they have to find pride in such small so called success as on 11th May youth will deprive them of the real succuess. As far as supporting PPP is concerned everyone knows who supported PPP for 3.5 years in federation. I hope and pray elders of Pakistan learn from their mistakes and do not cast their vote to tested parties as youth is with tsunami for NAYA PAKISTAN.

I dont know whether he backed out of his words of contesting against Mian sb or not but I do know that Imran criticizes Zardari and PPP in the same breath when he criticizes PML(N). As per PML(N) claims, First it was General Pasha, then it was Facebook and twitter and now it is PPP and Zardari that are responsible for a sudden surge in IK's popularity. This is as baseless and ludicrous as it can get. IK never even met Gen. Pasha and Zardari but I do know that both Sharif brothers used to eat Nihari and siri paye with Zardari and are a by-product of Gen. Ziaul Haq and Gen. Jilani. I do know that they supported PPP in federal of 4 years. It was not PTI or IK. Before claiming about Metro bus, he should first respond to Rs. 25 Billion corruption charges in Sasti Roti scheme that are published in newspapers today.
