Express News correspondent Qaiser Shirazi said that Elahi's statement will be recorded this week while a statement from former prime minister Shaukat Aziz will also be recorded.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had earlier investigated former president Pervez Musharraf in relation to the case, who pointed towards Rehman Malik.
“Rehman Malik was responsible for Benazir Bhutto’s internal security… she was assassinated following a lapse in internal security,” an FIA source earlier quoted the former president as saying.
Meanwhile, the FIA joint investigation team has prepared a set of 75 questions for Musharraf to answer in the case.
