Electoral participation: 7 women to contest from Sialkot

SIALKOT: Seven women are contesting the general seats in various constituencies of the Sialkot district. The Pakistan Peoples Party has fielded former federal minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan from two constituencies NA-110 Sialkot-I and NA-111, Sialkot-II. Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Razia Iqbal is running from NA-111, Tahira Tabbasum Chaudhary from NA-113 Sialkot-IV as an independent candidate and Kausar Sultana from a provincial assembly constituency (PP-124 Sialkot-IV). Former district council member Shazia Elahi Sethi is contesting independently from PP-126, Sialkot-VI and Nameera Nasir from PP-130 Sialkot-X. Ghulam Zohra is running as an independent from PP-131 Sialkot-XI.
