Religious conference: Over 700 policemen deputed

CCTV cameras will be installed to monitor the activities of any suspicious persons.

ISLAMABAD: Over 700 security personnel will be deputed to provide security at a three-day “Tablighi Ijtima” starting on April 27 in Sector I-11/1. According to an Islamabad police spokesperson, the police will ensure everyone entering passes through walk-through gates and metal detectors. Various entry points have been made and a separate site has been allocated for parking. The spokesperson said the police will work in three shifts, while armoured personnel carriers, Fire trucks, ambulances and bomb disposal squad teams will remain present at the site. CCTV cameras will be installed to monitor the activities of any suspicious persons. A control room has been also established for wireless coordination. The Traffic SSP has coordinated with the organisers of Ijtima to control the traffic. Special deployments will be made to avoid traffic jams from Pirwadhai Mor to Railway Gate on IJ Principal Road, Sir Syed Road and Police Lines Road.
