Karo-kari: Man strangles wife to death

Husband was suspicious that his wife had illicit relationship with another man and strangled her as she slept.

SUKKUR: A woman was strangled to death on Friday by her husband over karo-kari in Gulab Shar village, within the jurisdiction of the Dad Leghari police station in Mirpur Mathelo.

Mir Hassan Shar was suspicious that his wife, Anwar Khatoon, had an illicit relationship with another man and strangled her as she slept.

The body was taken to Mirpur Mathelo hospital where the woman’s mother, Bashiran, told reporters that her daughter had been falsely accused.

No case was registered and no arrests were made till the filing of this report.
