HYDERABAD:

Elections for PS-64 (Mirpurkhas) have been deferred following the death of an independent contestant, Waqar Buland, said returning officer Munir Baksh on Tuesday.

It may be noted that the elections in a constituency are put on hold due to the death of any candidate after the final list has been issued. The constituency has remained a stronghold of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement since 1988. Mirpurkhas has two national and five provincial seats.
