Earlier, the IHC held Islamabad police chief responsible for the police’s failure to arrest former president Gen Pervez Musharraf and ordered to arrest Amin within 24 hours.
“I sent SSP Operations to Musharraf’s farmhouse that day but no one was there,” was the best excuse Amin came up with before IHC’s Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui when he asked the reason for Musharraf’s non-arrest.
In return, Justice Siddiqui termed the excuse “ridiculous” and accused Amin of lying before the court.
The former military ruler was allowed to leave the court by the police deployed at the high court on April 18 after his bail plea was rejected.
The police did not arrest Musharraf until 24 hours later, after which he was produced before a judicial magistrate.
The hearing regarding the challenge of IG police will be held today in the Supreme Court.
Benazir murder case
The Lahore High Court Rawalpindi bench on Wednesday refused to extend bail for former military ruler Pervez Musharraf in connection with the murder of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, a lawyer said.
Musharraf, who attended a separate hearing relating to the Bhutto case on Tuesday, did not appear before the court Wednesday and neither did his main lawyer.
"The court dismissed General Musharraf's bail application," prosecution lawyer Chaudhry Azhar told reporters after the hearing.
"Now the FIA (federal investigative agency) should arrest him," he added.
Earlier, the bench had granted interim bail to Musharraf in the case on April 17. The bail, which ended today, had been granted against two surety bonds of Rs0.5 million each.

These judges think they are above the law. They are not excutive branch they have not reason to interfer in this side. Somebody should tell these judges that their lower courts are full of corruption please do something thing about that side of law .A common man is not getting in relief from lower courts.
This is the first time, judiciary is taking steps for punishing a General, who did anything he wanted. This is a tough time for the judges, so we should support them rather than insulting them. Action against Musharraf will keep army out of politics in Pakistan!
What happened then??
@Salma: "For God’s Sake Gen Musharraf has been arrested already. He never escaped or ran. Stop this nonsense please." --- the ire is for the reason that the police failed in their duty to arrest rather Musharraf is allowed to go/escape ( probably the IG Police thought of repercussions of his arrest on own life and career in case Musharraf or his associate came to power.). Judiciary has to assert their supremacy to ensure the rule of law..One PM has to leave for disobedience. Judiciary can't afford let bygones to be bygones
A practicing lawyer friend of mine in the Judicial Complex of Peshawar told me the other day that a plethora of reported judgements of Higher Judiciary reveal and substantiate this fact that courts orders are meant for implementation by the executive, whereas in Musharraf,s case it appears that Islamabad High Court assumed the role of executive as well, which is something above the law and constitution.
Bail cancelled w/o any proceeding .Musharraf will come out as a hero IA
Now IGP will also face the revenge of the ongoing biased justice !
@Salma: Two people had their hands and feet cut in public by the taliban yesterday for minor thefts. Another one had his hand cut today on orders of a private jirga. Both are dispicable acts and you think someone guilty of treason getting simply arrested in his own farm house is a big deal? Shameful!
Good coz judiciary is out of hands and doing biased decisions.
For God's Sake Gen Musharraf has been arrested already. He never escaped or ran. Stop this nonsense please.
But he wasn't home! They knocked and everything. How ever was the police suppose to find him?? Like, look for him?? Don't be daft. That would be like looking for a former General in a haystack.
Police himself looking for Justice.. how about a common man?
