Reshuffle: Jawad Paul new Islamabad chief commissioner

Former Islamabad chief commissioner has been appointed as an additional secretary in the Finance Ministry.

The Establishment Division on Tuesday appointed Jawad Paul as the new Islamabad chief commissioner after the incumbent, Tariq Mahmood Pirzada, was transferred to the Finance Ministry.


Paul, A District Management Group officer, was previously the staff director at the National School of Public Policy (NSPP) in Lahore. His previous postings include a stint as a Pakistan Telecommunication Authority director and Islamabad assistant commissioner.

Pirzada, a BS-21 officer was appointed chief commissioner in 2010, and has now been appointed as an additional secretary in the Finance Ministry.

Additionally, Information Secretary Shahid Rashid was transferred to the Ministry of Industries, while Fazal Abbas Maken was moved from additional secretary at PM’s Secretariat to Religious Affairs additional secretary. Hassan Raza Zafar has been posted as additional secretary at the Commerce Ministry.
