
The development comes after the federation tried out South Korean Hwang Dong Hoon and, while an improvement was made, it was time for higher standards, said PBF Secretary Khawar Shah.
“We want to hire a Cuban since their techniques are similar to what our players tend to use,” Shah told The Express Tribune. “Most Pakistan players like to hit the ball harder. Although our experience with Hoon was good, Japanese and Koreans rely on ground shots that doesn’t suit our players.
“We’ve shortlisted a few candidates and the appointment will be finalised soon.”
Hoon’s last assignment with the Pakistan team was the Asian Baseball Championship 2012 in Taiwan where the men’s team lost all their five matches.
