PESHAWAR:

A driver and his helper were injured when unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on Saturday evening at a truck delivering an armoured car to the International Security Assistance Forces in Afghanistan.

The attackers managed to escape after spraying the vehicle with bullets. An official of the Hayatabad police station said the truck was on its way to Afghanistan when it came under attack near Afghan Market on Jamrud Road. He said the driver Muhammad Iqbal, a resident of Mianwali, along with his helper and son, Asif Iqbal, were seriously injured in the incident and shifted to the nearby Haytabad Medical Complex. Police further said they took the truck into possession and later shifted it to the police station.

On March 21, another driver and cleaner were injured when their truck was attacked at the same location.
