
There are 99 vacant posts for teachers in 233 girls’ schools working under the Federal Directorate of Education in Islamabad.
This was said by Capital Administration and Development (CAD) Minister Younus Soomro during a Senate session on Friday, when he asked for details about vacant teaching posts.
The minister accepted that the existing number of institutions and teachers staff available is insufficient to meet the educational requirements of the number of students in Islamabad. “The FDE is running 424 educational institutions catering to around 200,000 students,” he said.
Soomro elaborated that during the last few years, 17 new institutions have been established at various levels. He said a case to create 4,017 new required posts is already being processed. There are 31 teaching posts vacant at 59 different schools in Islamabad city sector, 15 in 12 schools in Bhara Kahu sector, 25 in 22 schools in Nilore sector; 27 teachers in 18 schools in Sihala sector and two in eight schools in Tarnol sector.
