Administration: Only 45% tax recovery targets met

Target was set at 65 per cent recovery for professional tax and 75 per cent for property tax up till March 31.

FAISALABAD: The Excise and Taxation recovery officers in the Faisalabad division collected 45 per cent of the recoveries ordered. They had been set a target of 65 per cent recovery as professional tax and 75 per cent as property tax up till March 31. This was announced by Regional Director Muhammad Sarfaraz Wafa at a meeting on Friday held to review the performance of recovery officers. Expressing dissatisfaction with the low recovery percentage, Wafa said that officers would be closely monitored in future. He directed the recovery officers to review the recovery lists and re-launch the campaign against the defaulters. He also directed them to seal properties of those who did not pay the dues.
