LAHORE: Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Najam Sethi has refuted a report appearing in this newspaper on April 17 regarding his expenditures and taxes. Sethi said that “expenditures” show the amount of tax paid plus household outlays.

“In my case, 90% of expenditures were tax paid so the story should have actually praised me for paying more taxes than many members of parliament combined. Also it is incorrect that I did not submit my wealth tax returns for 2012. I have submitted all my wealth and income tax returns since I started to earn money thirty-five years ago”.

The CM said his accountant could be contacted so that his returns can be checked and his statement verified.
