Women’s reserved seats: Poll body accepts 127 candidates

The nomination papers of 27 women candidates of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians were accepted.

KARACHI: The Sindh Election Commission on Tuesday issued the data of 127 women candidates of different political parties whose nomination papers were accepted by the poll supervisory body after proper scrutiny for contesting the 29 reserved provincial assembly seats in the province.

As per the commission, the nomination papers of 27 women candidates of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians were accepted by the commission, while 26 nomination papers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement candidates, six nominations of Peoples Muslim League, 10 nomination papers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, 13 nomination papers of Pakistan Muslim League-Functional candidates and 11 nomination of Jamaat-e-Islami.

The remaining candidates belonged to All Pakistan Muslim League, Pakistan Muslim League (Sindh), National Peoples Party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Awami National Party, Sindh United Party, Qaumi Awami Tehreek, Muttahida Deeni Muhaz and Peoples Party Shaheed Bhutto.
