
As many as 3,354 polling stations in the district are ‘sensitive’ according to a report provided by intelligence agencies to District Returning Officer Nazir Ahmed Ganjana, The Express Tribune has learnt.
The report states that 350 polling stations fall in Category A, the most ‘sensitive’, 1,564 in B, ‘very sensitive’ and 1,440 in C, just ‘sensitive’ category.
Talking to The Express Tribune, DRO Ganjana said that a meeting to discuss the security situation would be held with police high ups and intelligence agencies in the coming week.
He said there were as many as 3,366 polling stations in the 13 constituencies.
The District Returning Officer has directed the returning officers to make sure that there is no more than 2km distance between two polling stations.
He also said no more than 2,500 voters should be allowed at any one polling station.
