Break-in: DC Central’s wallet stolen from office

The thief used the credit cards to get himself a Rs30,000 phone and Rs70,000 worth of merchandise.

KARACHI: Two credit cards and CNIC of the deputy commissioner, district Central, Saifur Rahman Paracha, were stolen from his office on Tuesday.

The thief used the credit cards to get himself a Rs30,000 phone and Rs70,000 worth of merchandise from a departmental store. The matter came into the commissioner’s notice when his peon found his wallet lying outside the office. Minutes later, Paracha’s bank record confirmed that Rs100,000 have been used from his account. Taimuria police took the shopkeeper from which the phone was bought into custody and contacted NADRA after obtaining CCTV footage of the market for further investigation.
