Nato Container: Driver injured in attack

Two men travelling on a motorbike intercepted the convoy and opened fire at the vehicles.

JAMRUD: A driver was shot and injured on Tuesday when unidentified militants targeted vehicles supplying goods to Nato troops stationed in Afghanistan in Jamrud, Khyber Agency. Political administration official Asmatullah Wazir said the convoy of containers en route to Afghanistan came under attack near Ali Masjid at around 10am. He added two men travelling on a motorbike intercepted the convoy and opened fire at the vehicles. The gunmen managed to escape after the assault, leaving a driver identified as Muhammad Faheem injured. Wazir said Khasadar personnel arrived at the site soon after the incident and shifted the injured driver to Jamrud Civil Hospital, where doctors said he was in stable condition. Wazir said a search operation was launched in the area in which 20 shops were sealed and four suspects were arrested.
