SIALKOT: District Police Officer (DPO) Humayun Bashir Tarar on Tuesday suspended a police officer for allegedly violating the election code of conduct. Kotwali Station House Officer Inspector Mohsin Majeed was found driving the car of Azeem Noori Ghumman, a Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid candidate from PP-131, a few days ago. The district police officer has ordered an inquiry into the matter by Additional SP Malik Awais. Tarar said police officials would not be allowed to support any candidates during elections. He said the job of police was to help create an atmosphere conducive to free and fair elections. Tarar said strict action would be taken against those found violating the election rules.
