MQM chief Altaf Hussain and ANP chief Asfandyar Wali held a telephonic conversation.
In a statement released by the MQM, Altaf expressed his condolences on the death of ANP’s party workers and leaders, and claimed that the acts of terrorism were rising disproportionately in the three provinces of Pakistan spreading fear and panic as compared to Punjab.
“Whether only Punjab is Pakistan as it is the only province where electioneering was being carried out freely while the worst kind of terrorism was continuing in the remaining three provinces of the country.”
The ANP leader claimed that Altaf was the only leader who had been openly condemning the attacks and applauded the MQM chief on working to eliminate the appearance of ethnic differences.
Altaf added that electioneering was only being facilitated in Punjab while the rest of the provinces were struggling to fight terrorism as if they were Pakistan's "step sons".
“Leftist forces are being eliminated in favour of right-wing extremists,” Wali claimed, warning that the situation could worsen if notice is not taken.
"Though we have lived our lives, we will have to think about future generation," said Altaf.

MQM was not having sole control over affairs. They declared their reservations several times and also they declared logic for supporting the govt. As a matter of fact PPP's government had NO opposition.

Plz ban all militant groups belonging to political parties. Deweaponize Karachi, it is full of weapons. All political parties should ban their militant wings. Otherwise they should be banned to participate in politics.
why all the politicians wake up only when its close to elections? MQM had a full control of karachi in the past 4 years and 11 months...have they done anything to get over the terrorism?.....each day, on average, atleast 10 people are killed in Karachi.
Sadly, he is one of the few sane voices left, we can not say anything about the PPP and ANP though they are in the same boat because they have no leader to be vocal about these things...

I never thought a day would come when I'd say this but Altaf Hussain is the only visionary leader of Pakistan. I am not from Karachi and I was never a voter of MQM but the way he speaks against all oppressed communities in Pakistan is highly commendable.
Although I will most probably vote for PTI in the coming elections but I have witnessed that the only party [so far] that sends lower middle class people to the parliament is MQM. The guy always talks about harmony between different sects and ethnicities, says no to TTP LeJ and PAC terrorists and has made a Baloch run from his own constituency of Nine Zero.
I wish you guys had a stronger network in Punjab although I do understand the bias spread by Noora against you guys so for us in Punjab right now the only practical third option is PTI. I hope Imran can take lessons from Altaf on giving seats to ideological lower middle class workers who never in their wildest of imaginations thought of becoming mayors, senators, ministers and parliamentarians.
Mr. Altaf Hussain should first give a road map as how to combat with terrorism, more particularly in Karachi.
I am really really sad for ANP, all PPP votes should go to #ANP since there are more Shaheeds in ANP than anyone else in Pakistan... more than 700 ANP workers are killed by now.

Simply.. no Election till the peace is restored in Pakistan. Someone was saying on VOA, Elections are for people of Pakistan, if they are unable to participate, or arrange rallies, or can not run campaigns, there is no use of these Elections.

When liberal and secular force of this country are not even allowed to do there election campaign, And people who have made state with in a state are killing candidates and blowing them self up in rallies, Establishment is playing its cards, And stage is set for a pro Extermist right wingers, its just the difference of name. (shar, baala ya tarazu). when 60% of pakistan is represented by one province what will people of other 3 province will feel not less then deprived and isolated
These "Takfiries" who consider democarcy as "satan's system" will not stop at liberal, rest to sure they will come for everyone. For them they have the word of God, They will not stop even after America will leave Afgenistan and drones will stop, They have bigger agenda's, they want to take every thing to stone ages
Having just spent 5 years on joint government it is now rich to make some demands.
Better think over your policies and decisions. What history proves that 'Talk' is the only solution to maintain peace.
