Govt notification: Teachers over 60 sacked from AWKUM

The decision was taken in light of the orders of the Supreme Court and directives of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor.

MARDAN: The Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) has sacked all teachers over 60 years of age with immediate effect. A notification to this effect was issued on Monday. It said the decision was taken in light of the orders of the Supreme Court and directives of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Shaukatullah Khan who is the chancellor of public sector universities in the province. The employees who were removed include Director Dr Said Khan Khalil, Buner Campus Coordinator Dr Saleem Khan, Registrar Professor Sher Ali Khan, Bacha Khan Campus Coordinator Inayatullah Faizi, Department of Law Chairman Dr Misal Zada, University College for Women Principal Mian Shireen, Faculty Development Programme Consultant Abdul Haq, Department of English Chairman Hayatullah and Finance Advisor Sikandar Khan, among others.
