Nawaz will run for NA-120 Lahore seat and Shahbaz for NA-129 Lahore.
The review appeal filed by former president Pervez Musharraf over the rejection of his nomination papers in NA-250 Karachi was rejected.
His nomination papers for NA-250 Karachi were rejected on charges of violating the constitution and sacking top judges.
Earlier, Musharraf’s nomination papers for NA-139 were also rejected by a returning officer of the ECP. His papers were rejected following six objections made by advocate Javed Kasuri.
One of the objections stated that the ex-general does not meet the criteria established in Article 62 and 63 of the constitution.
Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) also challenged Musharraf’s nomination papers for NA-32 constituency in Chitral.
The former dictator is in the middle of numerous political and legal hurdles since his return from self-exile last month.

I still feel that no one can touch Musarraf in Pakistan despite of all efforts .
These elections are turning out to be a joke from the outset. I wonder what the caliber of returning officers was when all the appeals can be overturned. Anyhow, everyone can contest the elections....not you Mr. Musharraf! You should know that you were a 'dictator' who gave the country a semblance of stability and progress. That was your fault! Unfortunately, most like me are cowards to acknowledge that in public because it goes against the norms being dictated by a very biased media.
In pakistan only media decides with the help of thier joker anchors Also any body who can read wants to decide and if he is urdu newsaper reader then he even wants to decide for the whole world @Voice of Pakistan:
Democracy means: For the people, of the people and by the people....let people to decide, whether they accept Musharraf a political representative or not, using different tactics is not apt solutions.......
Bogus judiciary and bogus ECP if they cannot even apply the rule of law. Rejection clearly should apply to those convicted and Musharraf has not been convicted of any crime. So much for the independent and impartial judiciary which we surely don't have in Pakistan. Now people should vote for the APML candidiate that Musharraf chooses to nominate (there must be a covering candidate) and send a strong message to the judiciary as to whose side people are on.
First of all, I condemn this decision as strongly as words can express then I advise President Musharraf to go in appeal to the highest level in the country and let us all see how biased the whole lot is and then we can judge for ourselves their agendas. Musharraf is a leader no matter how many petty little 'baboos' of judiciary or politically motivated small minds go against him. A leader is a leader by the acceptance of his people which President Musharraf is and would prove to be eventually.
These courts are great when they only go against the secular prties and leaders for petty crimes. However, they are worst when going against military dictator and those who committed acts of high treason the most serious crime according to constitution.
He is great leader, will win and succeed with the grace of God.
Well-done judiciary! Our trust on your impartiality has been enhanced. This is the first time that an x-military dictator has been asked for his misdeeds by the judiciary. I will call it "Naya Pakistan in offing". Politicians made deals - judiciary didn't. Nawaz Shariff, Imran Khan & others talking of change keep sleeping as our judicial system is awake.
@aaaaa:
that's your wish.. , not of Chitrali people...so therefore it can not be granted.
Musharaf DESERVES it.
How come the person should be allowed to contest election by abrogating the constitution of Pakistan? Good decision .
This is extra judicial action.
Oh darn...... now I'll just exercise the "none of the above" & jot down Musharraf's name........ I'd rather not give in to ET 'selection' process........ its my right to vote...... and I decide who I vote for
When Judiciacy can reverse Jamshed Dasti's punishment even after his crime was proved, then no justice is expected from courts.
Usually judges are considered to be impartial but in this case, where is justice. They are being personal.
Thats it! I'll not cast my vote in this elections.
I dont get. Its is the same judiciary who took oath under Musharraf who are now rejecting him.
What about our politcians who have attacked the constitution. Are they not being disqualified? Was it not PML N who attached the supreme court when Syed Sajjad was CJ? Why are there members not being disqualified.
there are several PPP, PMN (all), MQM etc against whom their are multiple court cases. Shouldnt they be disqualified?
What is the agenda here CJ?
Are these free and fair elections? After all pakistanis approved musharaf in a refeendom and the courts approved his martial law.
@Mohammad:
Actually, in Chitral, he should be banned as well. Not the other way round, as you seem to be suggesting.
Judiciary in full revenge mode !! RIP justice.
Grand Alliance agaisnt Musharraf
Still his way through the parliament is NA-32 without any hurdles. No worries. Jiye Musharraf.
TUQ was correct about ECP... we should have listened to him. ECP is so biased that he can't look into the controversies created by ROs.. In Chitral, I am pious, and in Karachi or Kasur.... I am criminal.
No, CJ & Company, you will not be able to deter or twist the aim of General Musharraf to serve the people of Pakistan. He is far more superior citizen of Pakistan than many of whom you have granted the right to contest election.
what a pathetic decision by the tribunal.. Shows the level of their biasness. All convicted candidates have been given acceptance to participate in elections. where as a person who has not been convicted as yet has been rejected on what basis ???.. shows the real face of our judiciary..
Where is the verdict of court convicting general Musharraf... if there is then why he is free? Man.. I lost every bit of trust on this Judicial System.. where Nawaz Sharief/Shehbaz Sharief defaulters and Tax invaders of millions are able to contest elections.
The ultimate example of biased judiciary.... period.
Taliban are fit to contest but Musharaf is not..........!!!!
Musharraf past karmas are catching up with him and there is more trouble in store for him.
