Health department: Senior officials transferred

YDA had been campaigning for Dr Rehman’s transfer for a while.

LAHORE: Several senior officials of the Health Department were transferred and other officials appointed in their stead on Friday. Jinnah Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Fazlur Rehman was transferred and posted as the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (SGRH) MS. The Young Doctors Association had been campaigning for Dr Rehman’s transfer for a while. SGRH MS Dr Aijaz Sheikh was transferred and posted as the Jinnah Hospital MS. Lahore Executive District Officer Dr Inamul Haq was transferred and posted as a health director. Dr Zulifqar Ali who had been serving as the Jhang health director was transferred and posted as the Lahore EDO. A spokesman for the Health Department said all hospitals, DHQ and THQ hospitals, rural health centres, basic health centres and special health institutions would remain open six days a week. He said medical colleges would follow a five-day week. The staff of clinical departments would follow their duty rosters.
