KARACHI:

Pakistan junior team coach Anjum Saeed was satisfied with the progress being made at the ongoing training camp ahead of the Europe tour.

The camp, underway at the National Stadium, Lahore since last week, is featuring over 30 players.

Pakistan will play at least nine matches against Germany, Belgium and Holland during the tour in June.

Saeed said all players except Umar Bhutta, who is busy with the Malaysian league, are attending the camp.

Bhutta represented the senior team at the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup and is expected to join the camp on April 22.

“The camp is going smoothly,” Saeed told The Express Tribune. “It’s being held daily featuring two sessions with a day’s break after three days.

“In the morning session, we are focusing on players’ fitness with physical training. The probables are given training on the field including match practice in the evening. We are targeting every aspect of the game to bring about an overall improvement.”
