Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has finalised its candidates for all National and provincial assembly constituencies, and the list of candidates will be published on the party’s website within a couple of days, The Express Tribune has learnt.
“The PTI is fielding candidates for each National and provincial assembly constituency as seats-adjustments with any party could not materialise,” said the party’s general secretary Pervaiz Khattak. He ruled out electoral alliance with any party, saying that the PTI has strong candidates in each constituency.
“PTI’s Central Parliamentary Board vetted all candidates three to four times before picking out the most suitable ones,” Khattak said. He added that long discussions were held in order to rule out favouritism and cronyism. “Now, there will be no change in candidates,” he said.
PTI’s top leadership intends to tour all constituencies to mobilise and motivate voters in favour of their candidates. The party has also set up a ‘Naya Pakistan Fund’ to collect funds for the election campaigns of its young candidates, Khattak said.
“The PTI believes in change and will contest the elections on the basis of its ideology,” he added. “Over 25 per cent of tickets have been awarded to the youth.”
Regarding the complaints of ignored candidates in award of tickets, Khattak said all complaints were reviewed by the board and after a process of serious debate, only the most suitable candidates were picked according to the party’s policy. “Review petitions were in their hundreds but the decision was taken on merit,” he added.

pti zindabad
@Ch. Allah Daad:
Friendly advice. Book a flight to Jeddah before there is a stampede at the airport!
PTI will win inshallah.....inshallah.....inshallah
"PTI will not make seat adjustments with other parties."... The truth is that other parties do not wish to board a sinking ship.
"PTI will give tickets to young people"... PTI has no choice, the truth is that there is no mature person in this party.
imran we all young generation with u.we know that u r only man to change pakistan
Ill give my vote to whoever Imran Khan gives the ticket to.
InshaAllah PTI will do great upsets by getting much more seats than political pundits are predicting. They are expecting same old trends in voting from 40 million new registered voters which will NOT be the case, I'm sure InshaAllah... PTI ♥
@DontBS Jahangir Tareen is your country's Highest Tax paying politician He paid 17 MILLION TAX in 2011 (read here: http://www.thenews.com.pk/Todays-News-13-19944-Businessman-pays-94pc-of-what-all-MNAs-paid-in-tax)
IK Will win in sha Allah
♥ Dil Dil "Imran Khan" ♥, Jaan Jaan "PAKISTAN" ♥
@Nadeem Zafar: Thank you for telling us you have been hiding under a rock since 1992.
@Ayesha: That will mean you are never going to vote because on that standard other parties are much less qualified than PTI. PTI is the only reason I am going to vote because it has future, it is upto the task, it has a leader who has no personal axe to grind and it can win us our self-esteem as a nation. It plan of having just 18 ministers speaks. Can any other party just say that? It is not going to give developmental funds to the MP's, can any other party just think about it? And that is the reasom many power hungry stalwarts have left it, but you and me, the common people of Pakistan, should stand for it because the PTI stands for us.
Our nation has waited too long for some one who can steer this country out of the mess we are in, please do not waste this opportunity and Vote for Imran Khan. All of us should make sure that our friends and family get out of their homes and vote for the rght party (ofcourse PTI) on 11th May if we do not vote then we will be commiting a crime and our coming generations will not forgive us. Even if Pti is not a winner I can proudly tell my kids that I tried....
Ill give my vote to whoever Imran Khan gives the ticket to.
Pakistanis,
Is this man or party perfect? no. Will he be able to deliver on every promise? no. Is everyone an angel and desirables in PTI? no.
Is PTI better and cleaner than the established dynasties? yes, a resounding yes.
@VoiceOfgilgit:
I am sorry for my earlier comment. Sometimes I forget to take my medicine and end up saying things that I do not mean to say. My apologies.
@Ayesha: You never provided justification for your choice? Which parties are you talking about when PTI has explicitly stated that they are not making seat adjustment with any party?
What about khusrheed kasuri who was the foriegn minister during afghan war and laying about the war facts
@Nadeem Zafar: My cook should be a candidate for President, after all, he's a high school drop out just like Zardari. What's your point? That Imran Khan has not done anything other than win the World Cup for his country? If an Oxford degree, integrity, excellence in his profession, social compassion, and 16 years of toil in politics is not good enough for you and the likes of Zardari and Nawaz are, it's no surprise why our country is in such bad shape.
@Ayesha: I guess you would go for "None of the Above" option then.
@ Nadeem
What a way to make fun of someone.... if Ricky would also have surved in UN for 15 years or plan to work then definitely he would be consider eligible for that.
Winning the world cup is one of proud achievements of our Khan but apart from that he has struggled for 17 years in Pakistan politics..... this honest struggle has won him our hearts and will do so of many others inshAllah..... this honest effort also shows that he is the right man to lead.... you may have differences with him or his few policies but I bet if inside you are convinced that there is someone better in Pakistan to lead our country for next 5 years..
If Najeeb Haroon the highest tax payer, with zero default record with State Bank and NAB is omitted for NA250, then it will be the greatest mistake.
all tickets given on merit and young pepople , i agreed it and i think pepoples who protest against this decian are not sincer with IK and PTI , dont change in giving tickets
Ricky Ponting should be a candidate for the post of Sec. General of UNO..he won the cricket world cup three times..for his country!
@Ayesha: If you want to have an intellectual discussion describe what you mean by "just look at the parties who have gathered around him". Identify "the parties", name them, point out their faults, their corruption record, otherwise do not make baseless generalizations.
@ Ayesha Do you have better option than PTI... I bet u dont.... then please vote for PTI... just for once, give them one chance and you will feel the difference inshAllah
@ Awais Khattak is not reviewing the candidates... it was centre committee of PTI which is headed by IK himself.... Khattak is only announcing it I think
@ Ch.Allah Daad: An other disastrous alliance of evils for the next 5? No way Pakistan will shine under the leadership of IK soon Insha Allha.
@Ch. Allah Daad:
Interesting. PML-N supporters have started seeing the writing on the wall and have mentally prepared themselves to ally with PPP in a hung parliament. So much for principles....
As a voter from NA-5, who will remove khattak when he is the one reviewing decisions?
Only the alliance of Pakistan's two biggest democratic parties, PPP and PMLN, can lead Pakistan out of troubles
whenever i saw imran , i wish i had millions of vote to give him,but i hope pak people will do that,,vote for PTI guys
Thanks God, this tedious process of ticket allotment is coming to an end. Now PTI should go all out for an aggressive campaign across the country. They have exactly one month to pull it off. Wish them the best!
Just as Pervez Musharraf mollycoddled shaukat aziz and paid the price, IK will find the ground beneath his feet give way unless he cleans his corrupt party men and women.
No matter who contests on the ticket of PTI , my and my family have decided to vote for PTI only.
Jehangir Tareen had so many huge loans written off, yet IK turns a blind eye to this corruption . . . these convenient blind spots will come and haunt IK and PTI.
Insha Allha PTI will rock the hope of new generation...
i had to vote mr khan but now i will not, he is not what he pretends to look like. just look at the parties who have gathered around him
At times I feel PTI is 20-25 years ahead of the thinking process of the nation it intends getting votes from. They have brilliant people like Asad Umar, they have devised good policies, their social media and online presence is top notch, they have put in place good practices for fund generation etc. but the majority of our nation which lives in villages wouldn't be able to comprehend all of this. I wish they did.
PTI stays true to its promise of following merit and representing youth. What an example for the other so called democratic parties. Best of luck IK and PTI!
Whoever the candidate is, the vote is for PTI.
Victory without seat adjustment- Oh la la !
We only want better,prosperous Pakistan. Hope khan will lead us to that.
Vote for change vote for PTI.
