List of judges who will hear appeals from candidates

Nine election tribunals will start receiving appeals by candidates whose nomination papers have been rejected.

ISLAMABAD: Nine election tribunals will start receiving appeals by candidates whose nomination papers have been rejected from Monday.

Of these tribunals, five have been set up at the Lahore High Court, two have been set up at the Sindh High Court and one each has been set up at the Balochistan and Peshawar high courts. Following is a court-wise break down of the judges who will be hearing appeals from candidates:

Lahore High Court:

Justice Rauf Ahmed Sheikh and Justice Mamoon Rashid Sheikh will look into petitions from NA 48 Islamabad-I and NA 49 Islamabad-II.

Justice Mamoon Rashid Sheikh will also look into petitions from constituencies NA 50 to NA 74 and PP 1 to PP 50, and hear appeals from candidates for non-Muslim reserved seats in the National Assembly.

Justice Ijaz Ahmed will entertain petitions from constituencies NA75 to NA 94 and NA 171 to NA 182.

Justice Nasir Saeed Sheikh will look into the petitions from constituencies NA 95 to NA 117, NA 143 to NA 147 and NA 160 to NA 166.

Justice Khwaja Imtiaz Ahmad will look into appeals from constituencies NA 118 to NA 142.

Justice Aminuddin Khan will entertain petitions from constituencies NA 148 to NA 159, NA 167 to NA 170 and NA 183 to NA 197.

Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti will look in to appeals from constituencies PP 51 to PP 90 and PP 240 to PP 266.

Justice Shahid Waheed will hear appeals from constituencies PP 91 to PP 193 and PP 220 to PP-231. He will also entertain petitions from candidates for the reserved seats for women in the National Assembly from Punjab and the reserved seats for both women and non-Muslims in the Punjab Assembly.

Justice Ibadur Rehman Lodhi will hear appeals from constituencies PP 194 to PP 219, PP 232 to PP 239 and PP 267 to PP 297.

Sindh High Court:

Justice Ahmed Ali Shaikh will look into appeals from constituencies NA 198 to NA 212 and NA 215 to NA 217.

Justice Faisal Arab will entertain petitions from constituencies NA 213, NA-214 and NA 218 to NA 258.

Justice Salahuddin Panhwar will look into petitions from constituencies PS 1 to PS 23 and PS 29 to PS 42.

Justice Ghulam Sarwar Korai will look into appeals from constituencies PS 24 to PS-28 and PS 43 PS 130

Justice Munib Akhtar will hear appeals from candidates for the seats reserved for women from Sindh in the National Assembly and the women’s seats in the Sindh Assembly.

Justice Riazat Ali Sahar will hear appeals from candidates for seats reserved for non-Muslims in the Sindh Assembly.

Balochistan High Court:

Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan will look into appeals from constituencies NA 259 to NA 272 Kech-cum-Gwadar.

Justice Muhammad Hashim Khan Kakar will hear petitions from constituencies PB 1 to PB 51. He will also hear appeals from candidates for the seats reserved for women from Balochistan in the National Assembly and the women’s seats in the Balochistan Assembly.

Justice Muhammad Noor Meskanzai will entertain petitions from candidates for the seats reserved for non-Muslims in the Balochistan Assembly.

Peshawar High Court:

Justice Mian Fasihul Mulk, Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel and Justice Irshad Qaiser will entertain all appeals in the province.
