Crime: Man beaten up; house burgled

The police lodged a case against the assailants on the basis of a medical report.

A man was beaten up and injured over a petty issue and a house was burgled in separate incidents.


Muhammad Abid lodged a complaint with the police that Arslan, Nomi and his accomplice intercepted him in Ghauri Town and beat him up with sticks and rods over a petty issue.

The police lodged a case against the assailants on the basis of a medical report but had made no arrests till the filing of this report.

Meanwhile, Waheed Khan lodged a complaint with the Koral police that robbers burgled his house on the Lehtrar Road Islamabad and made away with cash, jewellery and valuables worth Rs350,000.

Meanwhile, the same police arrested a suspected drug pusher, Wasim Akhtar, and seized 250 grams of heroin from his possession. A police official while talking to The Express Tribune said that separate cases have been lodged and investigation is under way.
