Cricket: Muqaddas shines in grade II game

KARACHI: Muhammad Muqaddas took a six-wicket haul and hit a quickfire 51-run knock to help Humak Engineering on day two of their Patrons’ Trophy Grade-II Group C match against PEB at the Marghazar Ground in Islamabad yesterday. At the close of play, PEB were struggling at 138 for three after being forced to follow-on, still trailing by 82 runs in the second-innings. In their first innings, PEB were bowled out for 180 in 53.2 overs with Farooq managing 40 as Muqaddas ran through their batting order. Earlier, PEB declared their innings on 384 for five. Omar Associates took a 161-run lead against Candyland, making 295 all out while replying to 134 as Qaiser Ashraf took a six-wicket haul. Syed Papers were closing in on an emphatic win against Service Industries.
