HANGU: Two persons were allegedly kidnapped while one managed to escape an abduction attempt in two separate incidents in Shanawari and Bagatu, Hangu on Wednesday. DSP Hussain Badshah said Sher Muhammad filed a report stating his son Alam and nephew Abu Bakar went out at midnight to fetch water from the tube well and never returned. He alleged armed men kidnapped them. Meanwhile, in Bagatu, Ajab Khan alias Khan Jee managed to escape from a kidnapping attempt. Khan told police he was walking on the road when some armed masked men intercepted him and tried to push him into a car, adding he managed to get free and ran home. Ajab Khan is the brother of Khan Amir Bagati who has submitted applications to contest in the polls from NA-16. After the incident, the residents of Bagatu blocked the Thal-Hangu Road for almost half an hour. They cleared off after DSP Badshah assured them the culprits would be caught. An official of the police, requesting anonymity, said Alam and Abu Bakar were abducted due to a personal enmity. However, he claimed no one tried to kidnap the electoral candidate’s brother calling it a stunt to gain sympathy.
