Social service: Charity helps vision-impaired farmer read

While reading the first verses of the holy book tears came out of his eyes and he got emotional.

Abdur Rehman, a farmer from a far-flung area of Jhang, was facing visual problems for the last six years. The 58-year-old farmer never visited a qualified eye specialist as he was very poor.


According to a press release, after hearing about Al-Shifa Light House, he visited Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital, Rawalpindi where he
was admitted to the low vision clinic.

Although he was unable to bear expenses, Al-Shifa Light House experts fulfilled the poor farmer’s wish and restored his vision. Rehman can now read the Holy Quran.

While reading the first verses of the holy book tears came out of his eyes and he got emotional thanking to Allah and Al-Shifa Trust for fulfil his wish of reading Quran.

The Al-Shifa Low Vision and Light House department helps blind patients remain independent, active and productive members of society. Poor patients are provided free treatment.

The programmes and services provided by the department include low vision assessment, provision of low vision aids, orientation, mobility training, career and employment guidance, counselling and rehabilitation services.
