Safety measures: Security for Matric exams reviewed

It was decided that Rangers personnel would patrol the examination centres.

KARACHI: A meeting to review security arrangements for the upcoming Matric examinations was held under the chairmanship of Karachi commissioner Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi on Monday.

Senior police officials, Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) chairperson Fasihuddin and controller of examinations Noman Ahsan also attended the meeting.

It was decided that Rangers personnel would patrol the examination centres where they would be responsible for the security of staff and centres as well as the transportation of examination papers.

Fasihuddin was of the view that stringent security measures would be required this year and requested for the provision of uninterrupted power supply.

Zaidi directed that Section 144 be enforced around the centres.
