Aisam and his dutch partner Jean-Julien Rojer convincingly defeated the Polish duo Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski 6-4, 6-1 in the match.
The tennis ace, who will be in action for Pakistan in the Davis Cup tie against New Zealand in Myanmar, said that he owes the win to the people of his country and hopes that the news brought happiness to the fans back home.
“My win is for my people and for my country,” Aisam told The Express Tribune after winning the title. “I hope this win can bring some happiness and closure to the people in these tough times. I love Pakistan.”
Aisam and Rojer had defeated second seeds Marcel Granollers and Marc López 6-3, 6-2 in the semi-final on Friday.
This is Aisam’s second doubles title of the year. Earlier, he had reached the final of the Open 13 in Marseille in France, after which he saw the first round defeat in Dubai Open and Indian Wells before claiming the first title of the year.

Aisam you have made Pakistan proud
Fow few with negative comments Be positive and appreciate that he is lone ranger in racket sports these days for Pakistan. If you cannot salute him, than do not put negative comments also!!!
@Amir: The Cup was in between!!!!
A true hero!
A true hero, i hope he inspires more sporting heroes in Pakistan
nice job mate
@Omar J., Karachi: It's so painful that you made such odious remarks with Karachi included in your name. Grow up dude & learn to respect whom deserve it truly!
True ambassador of the brand 'Pakistan'. And yes, Pakistan loves you too!
Great job! Congrats!
@Omar J., Karachi: Here goes the begging mentality that has brought our country to such ruins. Are you not aware of the countless charitable contributions he has already made? What do u expect him to do give ALL his winnings to Pakistan? To who the corrupt Govt? He needs to make a living like the rest of us, plus due to the non-existent funding he gets from the Pakistan tennis association he needs to fund his own training etc. Its high time people like u grew up and did something yourself for once instead of expecting others to do it for you. Well done Aisam you make this country proud, ignore the haters they have nothing better to do.
Words are cheap to gain free publicity. Would have meant more if Aisam had dedicated his cash prize winnings to Pakistan!
Amazing, thank you for giving us something to smile about! Pakistan zindabad
