Tennis: Talha cruises to semi-finals

Talha defeated Shoaib Abbas 6-0, 6-0 in the 21st Karachi Tennis Association Development Ranking Series Tournament.

KARACHI: Top-seed Talha Zubair cemented a semi-final place in the 21st Karachi Tennis Association Development Ranking Series Tournament after defeating Shoaib Abbas 6-0, 6-0 yesterday.

Earlier, Murad Khan, Aqeel Shabbir and Fahim Ramzan had booked their spots in the semi-finals on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Maheen Dada outclassed Abib Khan 6-2, 6-0 in the under-17 singles quarter-final but lost to Murad Khan 6-2, 6-3 in the semi-final in the evening.

In other matches, Zubair Raja defeated Nouman Aftab 6-3, 6-0 in the under-13 singles event while Muhammad Ahmed outplayed Noor-e-Mustafa 6-2, 6-1.

Muhammad Dada defeated Muhammad Abdullah Ahmedani 8-5 in the under-11 singles quarter-final and Abdullah Khan downed under-9 top-seed Yahya Ehtisham 8-6 in the first round.
