Smuggling: Eight arrested for possession of narcotics, guns

Three more men were arrested for carrying unlicensed weapons.

The Anti Narcotics Force arrested two men on Monday and claimed to have recovered three maunds of hashish and six kilogrammes opium from them.

They said the men were on their way from Peshawar to Mianwali. Assistant Director Rai Muhammad Akram said that they had been informed about a vehicle carrying narcotics. He said the vehicle was stopped on Talagung Road by a team supervised by Station House Officer Aftab Ahmed. He said the narcotics were found in secret pockets and sections of the vehicle.

Those arrested were identified as Shakeel and Ghulam Mubin. The vehicle was also impounded.


In Quaidabad, police arrested Kashif Masih and Imran and recovered six liquor bottles and 250 grams hashish from them, respectively. They also recovered a gun from Imran.

Three more men were arrested for carrying unlicensed weapons. Kundian police arrested Aslam and recovered 1.25kg hashish and five liquor bottles from him.
