PCB demands removal of Haroon Lorgat

Ijaz Butt says spot fixing allegations are a conspiracy against Pakistan's World Cup bid.

September 20, 2010

The Pakistan Cricket Board has demanded the removal of ICC Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat.

PCB Chairman Ejaz Butt has also said spot fixing allegations are a conspiracy against Pakistan's World Cup bid.

He made the statements while talking to Express 24/7. Butt said that he has prepared a strong case against the English players and the ECB officials.

He said the PCB is ready to respond if the English Cricket Board takes legal action.

The PCB chairman stressed that enough has been said against the board and the Pakistani players and such allegations will not be tolerated anymore.

Butt said the entire match fixing drama has been planned to pressurize Pakistani players. He asserted that the board will also respond harshly to the ICC in future.

I have read the response of english media saying that "The ECB took action", " The ECB is concerned", now, one can easily see the assertive attitude of English Cricket Board but unfortunately we lacked it at our end. Additionally, if an asian cricketer perhaps, any pakistani cricketer found involved in any miss conduct (even he stares at an opponent player) he shall be taught a good lesson with a match fees and a match ban but what exactly went wrong with ICC rules and regulations when our batsman got injured by a deliberate bowl hit from an english bowler or lets take an example of tuesday's incident when during net practise, trout grabs wahab riaz. In such conditions ICC and it rules R.I.P
A. Nazar | 13 years ago | Reply Ijaz Butt remained quiet and showed complete respect for ICC rules when the Mazhar Majeed investigation was going on. The 3rd ODI allegations by the British Media and the happily compliant ICC was just kicking us when we were down and hunched. So Ijaz Butt got up and gave a tight slap to the ICC and the English. Unfortunately there is no proper method of giving a tight slap.
