New markets Exporters eye market for Pakistani mangoes in Japan

CEO Harvest Tradings Ahmad Jawad has said that Pakistan has can avail a good opportunity of exporting mangos to Japanese market this summer as Japanese government has already approved the quality of Pakistani mangoes.


In a press statement issued here on Saturday, he said that Pakistani mangos are superior in taste and have the potential of giving to Indian mangoes already present in the market a tough competition.

Jawad said that Vapour Heat Treatment (VHT) plants will be installed in Karachi and Multan and expected to be imported from Japan in the current year.

India contributes 46.4% of world's mango production and Pakistan ranks no 4 at 4. 2% ( figures of the year 2010) . Japan and Australia is newer countries for the export of mango from India. Export to Japan is negligible . USA and gulf countries are the major buyers. Japanese ,market is practically free for Pakistan's mango export and can be captured / increase their market share..
