Assistant political agent (APA) of Landikotal subdivision, Azmat Wazir, told journalists the ban was imposed only in the bazaar, adding the ban was imposed for security purposes.
“It is difficult for khasadar officials and the political administration to provide security to the hundreds of political activists that gather in the bazaar,” he said.
Wazir maintained the ban had been imposed for an indefinite time period.
The APA mentioned tribesmen would not be allowed to gather in the bazaar and said political parties should arrange gatherings in privte areas, “In case of any violation, strict actions will be taken against the culprits” the APA added.
The ban was imposed after a vehicle laden with explosives detonated near the ration distribution point in Jalozai camp, killing several people. Tirah valley adjacent to Landikotal has also been captured by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.
