Punjab caretaker CM: PPP submits names for committee

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) submitted three names to Pakistan Muslim League–Nawaz (PML-N) for the parliamentary committee meant to decide a name for caretaker chief minister Punjab on Friday, reported Express News.

The PPP chose Major (retd) Zulfiqar Gondal, Shaukat Mehmood Basra and Chaudhry Zaheer for the committee.

The PML-N has not submitted names for its representation in the parliamentary committee yet.

The two parties hope to reach a decision within the next three days.

The provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh have smoothly transitioned into a caretaker set-up.

Justice (retd) Tariq Parvez took oath as the caretaker chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday, while Justice (retd) Zahid Alvi was sworn in as the caretaker chief minister for Sindh on Thursday.
