Police fire at protestors in Hyderabad

One man identified as Ramzan is injured in the firing.

Police have fired live ammunition at a crowd in Hyderabad protesting against the arrest of two people.

One man was injured by the firing. He was identified as Ramzan.

The crowd were members of the Gaddi community who were complaining about the arrest of two of their people.

They staged a sit in protest near the Sabzi Mandi area and blocked a road with burning tyres. Police opened fire using live ammunition when the protestors shouted anti-police slogans.

The police later fired tear gas shells to disperse the crowd.

waqar | 14 years ago | Reply in my opinion its a so panic to the area of Hali Road, that only 20 or 30 unknown persons create a group and harassing the people of Hali Road near Sabzi Mandi. also its notice that law enforcement failed to maintained the law & order situation. it also comes to light that local political party support these type of elements. i am humbly request first of all to District Police Officer, Hyderabad, DIGP Hyderabad Zone to kindly take strict action against the culprits involved in above incident, and after that i again request to local political parties to please do not support these type of GUNDAS. may be you all known are not. but i also told you all that the Eid, which is biggest occasion of all Muslims, the area of Hali Road, celebrate this Eid in totally harassment. i therefore request to all of over leaders & incharge of Law enforcement agency to please take appropriate action against those social evils so the area of Hali Road will be peace full in future.
