Curbing terrorism: Govt asked to be more proactive

To take effective measures in curbing terrorism is a primary responsibility of the government. This was stated by Supreme Court Judge Nasirul Mulk, while addressing the concluding session of a colloquium on “Modern Investigation and Evidence Gathering Techniques in Changing Justice and Counter Terrorism World,” at Federal Judicial Academy (FJA) on Monday, said a press release.

Speaking on the occasion, British High Commission Liaison Prosecutor Mark Carroll said, “An efficient and effective criminal justice system can bring to justice those involved in terrorist activities.”

While the Australian High Commissioner Peter Heyward said, “Criminal courts rely heavily on eye witnesses and confession evidence. Both are subject to external influences. For this reason, forensic science is an integral part of criminal investigations.”
