The chief justice was heading a bench hearing the Joseph Colony suo motu case. During the hearing, the Inspector General (IG) police of Punjab presented a report revealing that the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore did not visit the site at the time of the incident.
The advocate general Punjab assured the bench that the investigation into the case will be concluded by Friday or Saturday.
The chief justice said that the affected people are still living in camps and every officer is trying to cover up the incident.
Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed said that there are two ways leading towards Joseph Colony and the incident could have been prevented if there were enough police.
The hearing of the case was adjourned till March 25.
More than 150 houses of Christians living in the Joseph Colony were torched by an angry mob on March 9 over alleged blasphemous remarks against Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) by Sawan Masih, a 28-year-old Christian sanitation worker.

And those who are found 'not guilty' by courts are killed by mobs or miscreant criminals. The law itself is the criminal here.
the word Blasphemy in Pakistan is an excuse for property destruction and full filling the lust for blood.
Vigilante justice is wrong even if someone is guilty. Police sitting on their hands while they watch a mob burn and pillage is wrong - even is someone is guilty. And being a SC justice who pontificates on the obvious without ever actually correcting the injustice is wrong.
So where is the punishment for those who burnet Churches and Bibles in Gojra, Shanti Nager and Badami Bagh, CJ?
@Parvez: Sherry had the courage. She introduced a private member bill to address implementation aspects of law.what happened? She herself was accused of blasphemy. The police refused to file an FIR on such a flimsy ground and the court ordered it to. Pakistan will be. In a very unusual situation of their 2 nd ambassador to US in a row skipping the country.
Hon'ble CJ forget to observe that who burnt crosses and Holy Bible were also guilty of blasphemy under law of the land.
Yes of course CJ, because Pakistan has all the time and resources in the world to expend on blasphemy laws because that is our priority over poverty, corruption and terrorism.
But then how would we show the current government was failing, without creating a "law & order" situation, that is. Most endorcement of terrorism was part of this game too for someone who cares.
I am shocked to see that the CJ agrees with this law which is clearly UnIslamic. As long as this law stays on the books Pakistan will be the laughing stock of the world.
A law which requires a capital punishment is universally accepted. I can sit in a non Muslim dominated country and say whatever I want and Pakistan's justice system cannot touch me. If I commit murder then I could be extradited to Pakistan. See the difference?
So once again what we have is a case of total and utter stupidity.
What about those terrorists who burned the bibles and destroyed the churches? What about those casuing blasphemy by injuring the feelings of the christians?
Blasphemy law, in its current form, is evil and should be abolished in totality until another generation of well behaved muslims start to exist in Pakistan.
CJP, you have really dissapointed us.
A more sensible proposition would have been to abolish the blasphemy law from the constitution all together
What if somebody believes in the spaghetti monster. Does he/she have the right to punish all those who do not believe in spaghetti monsters?
Welldone CJP.
..........and Sir what happens to those who are then guilty of false accusation of blasphemy ?
As of right now they ' walk free ' because those who make the law and those who implement it, do not have the courage to address this.
