Spring festival: Lahore Museum to host 3 exhibitions

The exhibition will go on till March 30.

LAHORE: Starting on Friday (today), three exhibitions will be held at the Lahore Museum as part of the Rung-i-Lahore spring festival. The exhibitions have been organised in collaboration between the Lahore Museum and the Lahore and Punjab art councils.An exhibit on Pakistani handicrafts [opening today] will showcase handicrafts created by the cottage industry in the Punjab. Two exhibitions narrating history of Pakistan through coins, and traditional art forms by Naqsh School of Art students will simultaneously open on March 21. Museum Officer Uzma Usmani said artisans would show their skills for three days. She said artisans trained in chisel work, metal carving and embroidery would display as well as sell their pieces. Naheed Rizvi, the Naqsh School of Art principal, said third-year students and graduates of the institute would display traditional art work in ceramics, naqqaashi, calligraphy and miniature paintings. Rizvi said painted tiles and pottery, sculptures and miniatures would also be displayed. The exhibition will go on till March 30.
