Road accident: Two women killed, 16 others injured

The cause of the accident was reckless driving and rainy weather, according to the police and witnesses.

MANSEHRA: Two women were killed and 16 others, including five children, were injured when a Karachi-bound passenger coach rammed into a van near Gandiyan on Wednesday.

The cause of the accident was reckless driving and rainy weather, according to the police and witnesses.

Police quoted the passengers and witnesses as saying that the coach was on its way to Karachi from Battagram when the incident occurred. All 18 passengers in the van were injured.

The injured were taken to the King Abdullah Teaching Hospital where doctors pronounced two women dead, while five of the 16 injured were referred to the Ayub Medical Complex Abbottabad. They are in critical condition.

Those killed were identified as Nasrin Bibi and Gul Faizana.
