Nurses in Layyah protest against expulsion

Doctor Mukhtar justifies the expulsion saying nurses had been asked not to use mobile phones during duty hours.

LAYYAH: Members of the civil society and nurses are continuing their protest on a second day against the expulsion of some nurses from the nursing institute.

Protestors are raising slogans targeting DCO Layyah Javed Iqbal for not conducting an inquiry against EDO Health Doctor Mukhtar who ordered the expulsion.

Doctor Mukhtar has justified his decision saying nurses had been asked not to use mobile phones during duty hours. Talking to Express 24/7, Dr Mukhtar said that the nurses had been given warnings before expulsion. Negligence to abide by the rule forced him to expel them.

Doctor Mukhtar has termed the protest as conspiracy against DCO Javed Iqbal.

The nurses and civil society members are demanding the suspension of DCO Javed Iqbal.

They claim the DCO threatened nurses and their families using police officers who broke into their houses at night.

anwar | 14 years ago | Reply District administration should take appropriate action against trainee nurses and gang leaders for disruption of the essential health services and should be charged under the law, if there is any in Pakistan.

bose | 14 years ago | Reply I agree with you, Bilal. I am a senior male nurse in North America, where the rules and regulations is a first priorty. The politicians influence is zero over the all institutions and they are not allowed to take part in strikes or pressurize institutions. Sir, if we follow the sayings of the founder of Pakistan, the first one is "Discipline", which could help reducing corruption. Mr. MPA-PPP why don't you bring out your own households instead of using students to settle your personal scores. Time will come friend this fellow would be in much trouble due to his wrongdoings. I ask Mr. Zardari why your are sitting idle? It will of God you were made President of this country to oversee the welfare of a common man. Why you are silent over the wrongdoing of your party MPA, who is disturbing the daily lives of innocent public to settle his personal scores. Aslam, I am sitting far away, therefore, unable to visit hospital personally, but rest assure I would not hesitate to raise the voice against this corrupt MPA. A petition will be moved very soon against him from abroad.

Everyone is surprise with their action that they sleep in press club which is surrounded by a boundary wall and now one outsider was allowed to enter. TIf you carefully think this gives you the idea whats going on between these nurses and transporter baber khan khitran, Dr. Yahiya and some culprites from media. The main goru nurses whihc were expelled are working at Yahiya clinic and have kind of relation which can not be explained here. If you want more detail please visit the hospital and ask from the people about their relations.

After their protest on first day They were restored By E.D.O Health Syed Mukhtiar Hussain Shah. At same day M.S and Surgeon Doctor Yahya were transferred by secretary health. Now these nurses are protesting not for their own issue but these are used by these two doctors which have very bad reputation in D.H.Q hospital. Also one corrupt M.P.A of Layyah who cant do any welfare work in layyah also using these innocent nurses. If this Owl M.P.A has much sympathy with these innocent nurses. I request him to came with his wife and other family females to sympathy with these nurses.I hate and curse such politician who is using innocent girls for his political issues.

john | 14 years ago | Reply I work in health institution and not allowed to use mobile/cell phones during working hours and also bond to follow the rules and regulations, otherwise face disciplinary action. If the administration is corrupt, it is the responsibility of high offices to take action and find out who is the culprit. The politicians take advantages of such events as in this case, why do they care for innocent common public, they just want to settle their scores using bad apples.

The back of this game was the MS and Dr. Yahya who are anti EDO. Although these students were restored by the request of Ahmed Ali Olakh but the transffer of these two culprets make a new issue and use the nurses for their own benifits. The local MPA baber khan have also some political issue with DCO and he also participate in the protest. Beinga city residence he can only gather 30-40 people among whole district layyah. The Ex. PMA secretery genral Dr. Javed Kanjal also joined the gang as he was angry on all doctor as they didnt support him in election. The other major culpret and blackmailer is the “major fareed” who says himself a reporter of dwan news. The gange of major fareed, baber khitran, MS gilani and Dr yaha is the main source of this whole game. AFter the protest of nurses with baber and major fareed gang, the PMA and local people of layyah decided to thanks secretery health for transferring of these culpret doctors. The rally was almost 15-20 time larger than the nurses with gang’s rally. The city police was in between both to avoid any clash. The local poeple take othe to save the religous decoram of hosipital and nursing school and appreciate the EDO action. The local people has said that they will protect EDO and DCO and will demand from both to clean such bad fishes from the layyah.

Roshan | 14 years ago | Reply In every institution discipline is must. The hospital administration must disclose the activities and involvement of the dirty politicians. Ms. Victoria is member of Christian minority, it has been observed narrow-minded members of majority never like it.
